Meet Gabrielle Brine, Education Advocate
I’m Gabrielle Brine, an experienced Education Advocate dedicated to supporting families navigating the complexities of the SEND system. My journey into this field is personal and professional, driven by my experience as a parent and my training and work in SEND law.
My Background & Expertise
My advocacy work is built on a strong foundation of IPSEA SEND Law training and direct experience working with Surrey County Council. I have successfully supported families through complex EHCP applications and appeals, helping them secure the education and resources to which their children are entitled to by law.
I have also supported families in seeking a SEND diagnosis, finding the right school for their child, and connecting families to Educational Psychologists, Therapists (for example: Speech & Language, Occupational & Play Therapists), and Mental Health Professionals.
Before entering the field of SEND advocacy, I had a successful career in the City. I worked for over 20 years in both corporate and investment banking. This provided ample opportunities to use and refine conflict resolution and negotiation skills. It has also provided me with the confidence to navigate tough situations effectively.
Why I Do This Work
My own experience as a parent of a child with SEND fuels my passion for this work. I understand first-hand the frustration and emotional toll that come with securing appropriate education and support. This personal insight allows me to approach each case with empathy, determination, and strategic expertise to achieve the best possible outcomes for the families I support.
